Something new to you.

This is a piece I don’t believe I’ve shared here before. It’s one of my first highly political pieces painted in regard to the first American war in Iraq. Unlike the televised footage from Vietnam which was raw and gruesome. The first week or so of operation freedom was brought to the American public in a mainstream media fashion glitz and glam lots for bright lights and muted sound. War had come to tv and not raw real war but edited night shots of rocket strikes and Hollywood style cinematography. Don’t get me wrong I’m a patriot, I love my country and its base morals and thoughts of our forefathers. So (ramble) I painted my version of war, pink, reds creamy soft colors its my sarcastic rendition of war.

Okay I’ll get down from my soapbox the symbolism behind this piece I anybody cares to know is very simple, two plains of mountains two fields of cross symbolizing two sides two every conflict both with the exact same outcome…death and loss from war nobody truly wins at war, somebody just eventually decides they’ve had enough.

Things to remember

I try to stay away from politically charged anything as I feel that all humans have the right of free will, speech and expression. In the USA
This weekend holds Memorial Day in its heart I would like to also take one moment of silence for ALL people world wide who have lost life and loved ones to war.

An Old Soldier’s Prayer

I have fought when others feared to serve.
I have gone where others failed to go.
I’ve lost friends in war and strife,
Who valued Duty more than love of life.

I have shared the comradeship of pain.
I have searched the lands for men that we have lost.
I have sons who served this land of liberty,
Who would fight to see that other stricken lands are free.

I have seen the weak forsake humanity.
I have heard the traitors praise our enemy.
I’ve seen challenged men become even bolder,
I’ve seen the Duty, Honor, Sacrifice of the Soldier.

Now I understand the meaning of our lives,
The loss of comrades not so very long ago.
So to you who have answered duties siren call,
May God bless you my son, may God bless you all.

Lewis Millett
Certainly loss from war is not an American thing far from it was we are the youngest of the countries. My heart and prayers go out to all the families to those who have lost loved ones to the horrors of war and conflict, we humans seem to be very good at killing each-other. We are also good at forgiveness, compassion, hope and love. So on this day I take my personal moment and I share it with you.
Thank you for your service.

Songs of War** Not completed

As an artist and person I try to stick to matters of the heart, but every once in a while I’m compelled to do a piece the represents my dislike in something or my concern for a specific matter. As one may guess by the title of this piece it’s about war. My dislike for war my disappointment in our society as a whole to let wars continue to destroy our race and our planet. This piece speaks to the greed and ignorance of our societies governments as the back room deals continue whilst city’s burn and children, mothers, husbands and wives give their lives. It makes me sick to my stomach that WE our humanity continue to let this happen. Enough said. This is a larger piece 36in x 48in

Missiles, acid rain,fire

The fire that burns across the horizon line.

A building and background texture and paint.

What **updated**happens when it’s all gone
