There are only tears left

There are only the empty holes left in my heart and soul as you lifted me up to the highest point. Hands in worship came crashing down the very same day.

I should have known it was to good to be true. A test of faith of character,heart and will. At least I was honest a gentleman still.

These are the words I’m left with as tears fill my eyes. My stomach is churning, my heart is burning and my soul has gone dark, far darker than before.

With these words I lay down to sleep, I pray the good Lord my soul to keep as I lay down yet another day and weep.
