A big day for B

Yep that’s right the day has finally come. If you would have said two weeks ago that I’d be moving out of my house I would have looked at you like you were mad. Guess I would have been wrong.

17 FT of moving power lol… UHaul the friend of every college kid and divorced dad on the planet.
On the flip side because I wouldn’t make much of a Gemini if I didn’t have two stories to tell. Today is pretty exciting. The tags are made and paintings packed for the Cafe Voila show which gets hung today.

So no matter how hard today ends up being it’s going to be a great day for at least one reason.
After the show gets hung this morning thanks to some amazing people we will load the “stuff” of my life into the truck, take it down town to the Arts building and stash it in an empty studio until my apartment is ready to be moved into. Hopefully that will be no later than the first and as soon as Monday but honestly not done is not done till it isn’t right 😉
Here is a sneak peak at some of the work I’ll have up at the Portland show. Yes much of it I’ve shown before but honestly I haven’t been painting much for the last month. With the Saint Louis trip and then almost directly over to England and then coming back to this madness lucky I’ve time to think straight.

I am showing this grouping again though “horizons” is only on loan from the J & M private collection. Thanks guys 🙂 there is more that’s going up as well but if I showed everything there would be no reason to come to the show.
Anyhow..a very special thanks to those of you who have stuck with me all these years and to those of you who’ve just found me. It’s been a wild ride.
I’m not sure what life has planned but one things for sure..I’ll paint and write my soul until my hands refuse to hold a brush, by then maybe I’ll have a monkey 😉
So be brave, be bold and thrive in the life you have..

Much love
A life in progress..

  1. Benjamin, my heart breaks as i smile at your courageous path you have already forged onward. no matter your destination, you will succeed and surpass anything even you expect of yourself. Your show will be a great success and couldn’t be at a better time, given you have the support to get it together, which you clearly have. What angels… As are you, my friend. i detect not a hint of animosity in your words and that alone speaks volumes to me of your truest heart.

as always, mine is with you. xo

  2. I just received this and thought i’d share it with you as it reminded me of your current state of living-awareness….

Although all phenomena are going through the various appearances of birth, abiding, changing, and dying, the true person doesn’t become a victim of sadness, happiness, love, or hate. She lives in awareness as an ordinary person, whether standing, walking, lying down, or sitting.

  3. Beautiful images, Ben, and a new energy in your voice as if, for all the trauma of your current situation (and my heart goes out to you: severance, even if ultimately healing, hurts like hell), something has been liberated.
Loved your witty little quip about the monkey!
Very best of luck with the hauling – and all the rest.

  4. Dearest Ben, As always your positive spirit carries you through even the most trying times. I am so grateful that you are surrounded by the wonderful friends that you are. You already know the rest and so my brave, bold dear one; keep the love and support close to your heart to sustain you. It is a reflection of the beautiful soul you’ve shared so willingly. K~ xo

  5. i have a gemini daughter and granddaughter so i understand the twins and their approach to life. none of us knows what life holds for us, other than it goes on, until it doesn’t )

  6. So much going on, yes Gemini’s handle it in stride as we switch twins on and off to see us through. The show gives you the breather from the outrageous circumstance you are living through, the new place allows you to continue with your life’s work, and your friends give strength through their soulful connections on what you need to move on. Only the very best of wishes for these many new starts as you forge ahead – no doubt you will do well with your fabulous exhibition.
