Today…The short version..

Hi. It’s kind of silly, but I think that’s one of my favorite words, nothing beats a nice Hello followed by a warm smile. Today ended up being pretty okay I must say. Despite my damn ribs still keeping mr from pain free movement I enjoyed myself mostly. I can’t remember if I mentioned it but that local place Crema, that I cancelled the show for January. Well I felt bad for their empty walls and it wasn’t their fault that things worked out the way they did so I decided to do a mini show the “silent” show for them, just until the end of the month. I’ll be taking February off from showing Art as I need to get busy and settle into the new studio.its good for my heart and soul, plus I miss it. Here’s a sneak peek at the show. I’ve been told it looks nice, but I’ll let you be the judge of that. Just some quick pics with my phone.. But aren’t they all.

Tomorrow I’ll go down and sigh things, name tags, bio, etc..

It’s funny but I really enjoy this space, the girls and owner who work there are very nice. The clientele is very nice and they have a very good traffic flow. This particular show is dominantly red as you can see but I feel in person it doesn’t become to overwhelming. Of coarse that’s coming from a guy who’s red/green color blind πŸ˜‰
So how was your day? Hopefully the world was kind to you. Well my friends I need to call it a night, I’ve been having some pretty major issues with dystonia in my arms and elbows as of late so keeping them bent when typing is a whole new level of uncomfortable. I’ll talk to you soon have a great day where ever you are.

  1. They look wonderful! Not too much red to me (and I’m a fibre designer). “Avalon” is my favourite song since the moment I heard it – so double wonderful πŸ™‚ Hope the discomfort has abated by the time you read this. Take care, K

    • Thank you that’s very kind of you. I’m happy you enjoyed the photo. In person they are lovely. Framed in a mixture of bronze and mahogany. I feel like the collection itself overall turned out.

    • I can imagine. I always knew something was off as ppl would remark how vibrant my work was or when I would ask if this tan or green fabric matched. But then last year I had my eyes checked and completely failed the color chart test. The look on the techs fave was hilarious. The doctor did a more In depth test with actual light and determined as see a different spectrum of those colors than most. She also told me I have a hyper acuity meaning that when I look at things I can focus in far more close than normal, which I guess is why I love texture. I find texture palpable. Even being told I really don’t know what it all means in the real world. I just know I feel color and written words and raw emotion create vivid clear images in my mind. πŸ™‚ I guess I’m a kook.

      • No more a kook than me or my husband! I feel the same about texture and your remarks about feeling colour and so forth is reminiscent of something I do have in a mild form which is Synesthesia where the senses get mixed up. For instance (and it’s involuntary), I see days of the week in colour and shape – always the same. Friday might come up in conversation and I instantly see a yellow half moon. Tuesday is pale grey but I couldn’t describe the shape/pattern, only draw it!

Our conversation has inspired a blog post in which I will be referring to you and our conversation and your art. May I take one of your photos for it?

        Blessings, Sarah x

  2. Very nice Benny! I painted on canvas yesterday for the first time in a long time. My painting went kind of wrong, but I went with it and I’m not sure what I think now…
I had a pic in my mind for so long how I wanted it and a couple mistakes screwed the whole thing up. Having said that, it might be okay the way it turned out. I should send you a pic…lol
