“Even on the darkest days there is light”

The full shot photo has a little color desaturation happening from the horrible lighting I have in my studio. Hopefully the close ups give a idea of what’s happening in this piece. Created by hand, palette knife and gauze applied paint, fancy way of saying finger painted. Using heavy body gesso mixed with a very fine grain plaster of Paris. Acrylic paint, glazes and various mixing mediums to give the paint an oil like quality. I hope you enjoy and on your dark days find light and hope.

I am actually speaking if hearts and minds, feeling very good so far today. My body is what my body is. But I’m not going to let that ruin another one of my days not 2 in a row. How are you?
And thanks for asking btw.

Busy, productive and time with friends.. a lovely day
And if he remembers my younger son may be here shortly so I don’t have to wrestle with tripods and timers.. but he has a memory like a seive, so I hold out little hope
Well that sounds like a lovely day.
Be well

hi luv,
this is spectacular. it looks “to me” like you took almost every tube and gave it a bit of your magic. isn’t there a shimmer or is that just me. the last two shots… i appreciate your explaining your technique because i had no idea you were using gesso and fine plaster along with everything else! your “fingerpainting” is very sophisticated play!
there’s been several of your works now where i imagine them with metal leaf, especially silver and gold. it’s probably way expensive but perhaps gold paint…are you also using those–oh now i forget what they’re called-when the colors change according to the light in iridescence?
i have some gold leaf from ages ago i am wanting to use but have to wait til i’m better. ah well… my wc is coming along tho i am trashing the bedroom. in a good way.
glad today has been good for you, mellow in it’s way and i will visualize you sleeping like a baby THRU the night..! tho i was around last night at 230 and would have liked to have chatted. oh well…best you sleep. amen. xox
Thank you I’m glad you like this piece, I’d like to use gold or silver leaf but your right it’s way out of my league, to pricey
The iridescences comes from the glazes, multiple layers and multiple colors mixed with the textures helps create a ton of light play. Sorry I missed you last evening I actually slept wow! From 1-4 pretty cool, rare for me these days.
I’m glad your feeling a little better, I hope the rest if the evening brings you warmth and piece.
Always
Benjamin
